I think all creatives feel it from a young age. We ask more questions and push boundaries a little farther than others might... We play with ideas and as we get older, we play with reality.
Ironically, it can be difficult in a world that encourages an almost constant consumption of art. But on the other hand, it makes original ideas feel like striking gold. Rather than window shopping for inspiration, mine for gold- whatever that looks like to you. Personally, I write a lot. Something spiritual happens when you talk to yourself. First you cringe, but then you romanticize your journey and find your artistic persona.
Part of creative work is adaptation, which i've always been great at. It's exciting to me that as the world evolves, I evolve and so does my work. I'm excited about the creative trail and the way it allows me to connect with others who are forging their own paths. For a brief time we overlap and through shared ideas, we create our version of magic.
I started an event videography business with my best friend at 21. At the time, we loved documenting our own lives (I don't think you could even post videos on instagram yet, we would post our little vlogs on facebook) Once we started meeting people in the industry, we quickly learned how to brand and position ourselves. Once I felt momentum in the creative industry it was a done deal. We moved to NYC two years later with a full time career. I may owe some credit to young delusion, but I cultivated a risk taking mindset which has been essential in my creative path.
